PHON-IO security functions
Special attention was directed to security aspects when designing the PHON-IO system so that calls may only be placed with PHON-IO under certain specific conditions. Telio has produced a wide-ranging portfolio of control and monitoring functions in continual and close collaboration with correctional facility staff and ministries of justice.
SECURITY AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS (SELECTION):
• manual and automatic call-monitoring and recording using monitoring software
• logging and simple analysis of all relevant connection details
• fast shutdown of the system with a click of the mouse or emergency-off switch
• variable operating times for each Teliophone
• range of restrictions possible for each telephone account, e.g. number pre-approval and blocking, money and call time restrictions
• user/account holder verification requirements
• technologies that can be used to check whether the user is indeed the telephone account holder and that s/he only calls those numbers previously approved by the penal institution (e.g. call diversion, calling cards)
